A Place for the LORD

by Paul Jablonowski

May 28, 2012

King David vowed to the LORD that he would not give sleep to his eyes or slumber to his eyelids until he found "A PLACE" for the LORD, which is "A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob" according to Psalms 132:5.

This incredible Psalm 132 about the government of God which is in Zion, goes on to say the following:

"For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place (home); This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also cloth her priests with salvation, And her saints shall shout aloud for joy! There I will make the horn (government) of David grow; I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed (Messiah Jesus). His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon Himself His crown shall flourish." Psalm 132:13-18

This crown mentioned above is "a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty," according to Isaiah 28:5 and 62:3. Many Christians desire to be a "crown of glory" in the hand of the LORD, but few are willing to take the path of "the cross" which is required to get there. Pictured here is the cover of my book where there is a cross made of stars that is undergirding a "crown of glory." The crown represents the government of God and the glory that the LORD gets as a result. However, this glory only comes through the cross. For those who have not lived the crucified life, there will be no crown of glory, although the LORD desires this for all of His children. THE CROSS is the wisdom of God and the power of God to bring His Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven.

In my prayer times on most mornings, I light a menorah and pray the Seven Spirits of Yahweh (Isa. 11:2) over myself, my family and my community. One day while lighting the Spirit of Power, the LORD showed me to take away some of the burned-out wick in order for it to burn more efficiently. This is like THE CROSS working in our lives; When we give up more of ourselves, we burn with more of His light and love and power. The way up is down, and the way to get more is to GIVE more of yourself. The Kingdom of God is full of paradoxes like this which is foolishness to the world, but to the LORD it is like a crown of glory in His hand.

It is time to build Yahweh's kingdom and not our own. It is time to give, and not try to get all the time. It is time to build God's people UP and not tear them down. However, the other side of this two-edged sword is one of judgment against the enemies of the LORD. These enemies are not flesh and blood, but spiritual enemies in the heavens who seek to influence and control mankind (Eph 6:12). Soon we will see some of this judgment against the prince of Greece (Daniel 10:20), which controls much of the western nations, and especially America who is rich in material things but poor in spiritual fruit.

America is like the fig tree in Luke 13:6-9 where Jesus spoke this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, "Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?" But he answered and said to him, "Sir let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.""

The LORD has been seeking fruit from America, but eventually judgment will manifest in the economic realm. As the Laodicean church found, it is hardest to stay faithful to the LORD when you have an abundance of riches and wealth. America is one of the most prosperous nations even as Sodom and Gomorrah were at one time. But those who overcome this lukewarm spirit are also granted to sit with Jesus on His throne! (Revelation 3:14-22)

Today is Pentecost, and the FIRE of God is a great theme on Pentecost. On this day, Moses received the 10 commandments amidst the fire on "a place" called Mt. Sinai. Also, the Holy Spirit manifested in tongues of fire in "a place" called Solomon's porch. These "places" became both a blessing on the things of God and a judgment on the things that were not of God. Likewise, today God is finding "a place" in His Bride Body people for a crown of glory that will both bless and judge for Him.

"In that day the LORD of hosts will be for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people, For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, And for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate." (Isa. 28:5-6)

So we can see that there is a battle at the spiritual gates, and that the crown of glory is given for a "spirit of justice" to bring judgment on wickedness. The "place" that the LORD is looking for to bring his crown of glory is a broken and humble spirit that has learned the wisdom of the cross. The opposite of the crown of glory is the "crown of pride" which is worn by the "drunkards of Ephraim" (Isa. 28:1-4) who are self promoted leaders within the church that are immature. They will be "trampled underfoot" like a fading flower.

But Zion is the eternal dwelling of the LORD, and Zion represents Him in the earth. His crown of glory will only come upon the heads of those who have taken up the disciple's cross. Acts chapter 2 mentions A PLACE on Pentecost where all the disciples were in unity before "a great sound from heaven" came and filled them. The entire body of believers was then filled with great generosity and community. During this year's Pentecost, may we each be "a place" where the LORD can commune.
